by Peter Zumthor

We’ve reproduced the pepper mill designed by architect Peter Zumthor in 2006. The shape of the mill was faithfully recreated through 3D scanning of the original design drawings and object, then further refined with meticulous revisions overseen by Zumthor himself. Both the head and body are carved from a single solid piece of wood, then segmented afterward.
To distinguish at a glance between white and black pepper, the mill is available in two different kinds of wood: white castor aralia and dark brown wenge. Turning the adjustment screw on the head adjusts the grinding between coarse and fine. While the pepper mill will see use for only a small part of each day, its mere presence is the embodiment of beautiful design.
