Kanzan

Kanzan is made at the 400-year-old Koishiwara Pottery in Fukuoka Prefecture. While Koishiwara ware is known for distinctive decorative patterns known as tobika, Kanzan features a metallic finish achieved through a slow cold reduction process using thinly ground Koishiwara clay with an iron-rich glaze, giving it a modern touch. At the same time, the texture of the clay adds an intimate quality that provides an attractive setting for a wide range of dishes.
