Kaoru, Kaoru noir

This collection of tea ware brings together classical and modern sensibilities, blending Western and Eastern aesthetics into graceful forms reminiscent of teapots for Chinese and black tea. The culture of tea drinking and its preparation, originally introduced from China, has gradually evolved into a style that is uniquely Japanese. The crisp edge of the spout and the light feel of the vessel reflect the refined mastery of Japanese ceramic craftsmanship.

The black teapot is made of Tokoname ware from iron-rich udei clay, fired without glaze. Particularly noteworthy is the precision of the lid, perfectly fitted by hand, and the finely integrated strainer made from the same clay as the body. Perforated with countless tiny holes across a wide surface, the strainer resists clogging, allowing every last drop—rich with flavor—to be poured smoothly.
