Bon, Bonbon

These trays and plates revisit the traditional shapes of Japanese serving dishes. In the past, flower-shaped rims were originally found on metal tableware, then later applied to lacquerware and china as well. The style has been used for a great many dishes over the years. There is a rhythmic motion to the overall design that adds beauty and zest to the dining table. Foods and utensils of simple shape and color go particularly well with Bon and Bonbon.

Though the basic forms of the dishes are made by machine, the inner rims are hand-chiselled by artisans. The vibrant presence this gives the dishes is why we value handwork so highly when making our products.
