This stool is made by a single craftsman’s hands, from the preparation of its clay material to potter wheel forming, glaze making, and firing. It is made in the Iwami region of Shimane Prefecture, an area rich in clay that offers excellent moisture- and salt-resistance.
Each finished stool has a unique appearance for a product that expresses individuality and presence unique to pottery. The clay used is a semi-porcelain that lies between porcelain and pottery. Extremely hard, it boasts excellent moisture resistance and can be used outdoors in gardens or on terraces.
